Emotron FDU Variable Frequency Drive

Emotron FDU Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) has been developed to control flow and pressure. It offers efficient and reliable operation of pumps, fans and compressors, reducing energy and maintenance costs. The series covers powers of up to 3,000 kW.

• Protection from damage and downtime: Smooth starts and stops protect your equipment. Reduced start currents result in smaller fuses, cables and energy bills. Controlled stops eliminate the risk of water hammer and other costly damage. A built-in load monitor and unique Load Curve Protection function help detect situations that could cause inefficiency or damage.
• Energy savings and optimised operation: Emotron FDU regulates flow and pressure by continuously adapting motor speed. A sleep function further reduces energy consumption by pausing the motor when it is not required. Automatic pump rinsing and multiple pump or compressor control further improve efficiency.
• User-friendly and reliable operation: Operation parameters can be set in process units such as m³/min, bar, Pascal and Celsius. The removable control panel includes a copy function for transferring settings to other Emotron FDU units. Built-in programmable logic functions, comparators and timers can reduce the need for external PLCs or relays.
• Available in IP20/21 and IP54 versions: Emotron FDU is available in IP20/21 and IP54 versions. The robust steel construction of the IP54 version allows installation close to the application, helping reduce cabinet and long motor cable costs.
• Simplified maintenance: A full status report is generated for each event in the fault logger, helping identify problems quickly and take corrective measures. Maintenance is simplified through easy-access mechanical parts and fold-out power modules in higher-power units.
• Motor protection: PTC and PT100 sensors can be connected to control motor temperature and provide process feedback without using a transmitter. The Safe Stop option provides protection against unexpected starts during mechanical maintenance.
• Liquid cooling: Units from 90 A can be provided with liquid cooling, helping reduce operating and maintenance costs while allowing cabinets with a protection class higher than IP54.
